October 29, 2007 photos from Arunachala
A very old
holy hill in southern India. Lots of swamis have made their homes here, including Sri Ramana Maharshi.

Geological surveys have called it a classic Archaen model (earliest known rock formations dating back
about 3.8 billion years ago) as opposed to the much younger Himalayas (less than 50 million years old).
